PROSECUTOR TO SEEK DEATH PENALTY IN CHILD’S MURDER CASE

Milam County prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty in the trial of the suspect indicted for capital murder in the death of a 20-month-old Rockdale girl.

30-year old Shawn Vincent Boniello remains in the Milam County Jail.

The Milam County Grand Jury handed up a capital murder indictment Wednesday morning in the death of Patricia Ann Rader, who died of December 3rd at her home in Rockdale.

Milam County District Attorney Bill Torrey says his office will seek the death penalty after viewing a draft of the offense report fom the Rockdale Police Department.

Boniello was caring for the child while her grandfather was at work.

Officers, firefighters and paramedics responded to the girl’s home the night of December 3rd after receiving a report of an unresponsive child. Paramedics performed CPR at the scene, but were unable to revive the girl.

Boniello was arrested that night and was initially charged with child abandonment/endangerment, but was then named in a complaint charging capital murder.
