PUBLIC INVITED TO POP-UP COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FOR BRENHAM PARKS AND REC MASTER PLAN UPDATE

City of Brenham Parks and Recreation staff invite the community to give input on the city’s road map for the Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Master Plan.

Parks and Recreation staff are coordinating with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension to put together pop-up community engagement sessions through February 25th.  The pop-ups are quick opportunities where city and AgriLife Extension staff will meet with residents in everyday places, and offer simple and fun ways to provide input.

The first pop-up session was held today (Friday) from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Margaret E. Blizzard Senior Activity Center. Sessions will continue tomorrow (Saturday) from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library, and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at H-E-B.

Sunday, sessions will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Blinn College’s Kruse Center, and from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Jackson Street Park, in the pickleball area.

There will also be sessions Monday from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Blue Bell Aquatic Center, 9 to 10:30 a.m. at H-E-B, 5 to 6 p.m. at Hohlt Park, and 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. at Linda Anderson Park. The last session will be held Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Jerry Wilson Park.

The goal of the pop-up sessions is to connect with residents, improve communications between them and the Parks and Recreation Department, and to better understand what activities residents participate in and what ideas should be considered in the future.
