REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER SWEEP

  

Law enforcement agencies in Brenham and Washington County conducted a sex offender registration sweep Tuesday to ensure compliance among the area’s registered offenders.

Brenham Police Sgt. Trey Gully said the department’s Fusion Unit and patrol officers joined with Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies, and troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Attorney General’s Office to make spot checks on 19 individuals to confirm they were fulfilling the terms of their registration duties.  Only one person was found to be out of compliance.  That case is being investigated.
