REGISTRATION OPEN FOR “COOKING WELL WITH DIABETES” CLASSES IN BELLVILLE
Pre-registration for Austin County’s “Cooking Well with Diabetes” course is now open.
Cooking Well with Diabetes is a series of three, hands-on classes with research-based information and diabetes friendly recipes.
The goal is to help participants learn how to manage their meal plan and self-care to maintain their blood glucose in the ranges recommended by the American Diabetes Association.
The classes are scheduled for Monday, August 5th, 12thand 19th. They will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Basement Meeting Room of the Austin County Courthouse on 1 East Main Street in Bellville.
The course is open to anyone interested in diabetes prevention and control, and caregivers are encouraged to participate. Pre-registration will run through July 30th, and the course costs $30 per person, going up to $40 after July 29th. The first 10 participants to register will have their names entered into a drawing for a door prize.
The program is being sponsored by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Bellville General Hospital, and the Department of State Health and Human Services.
