RELAY FOR LIFE BARBECUE COOK OFF AND DANCE
The first annual Washington County Relay for Life Barbecue cook off and dance begins tonight and continues Saturday at the Elks Lodge in Brenham. Tonight’s fun begins at five pm.
Holly Johnson of the Relay for Life Campaign says there is of course, good food and dancing but there are also a multitude of contests. She says a margarita contest and Chef’s Choice competition are on for tonight (Friday). She says the fun continues Saturday with contests for Bloody Mary’s, and a beans, chicken, pork and beef cook off.
Saturday night means dancing with the Anthony Moreno Band from 7 to 11pm.
Johnson says you can still take part in this fun but meaningful event.
Relay for Life is an all night walkathon to raise funds for the American Cancer Society in order to cure cancer in our lifetime.
The actual Washington County Relay for Life is set for October 10th at the Fireman’s Park Baseball field. The Relay for Life website is www.relayforlife.org/washingtoncotx.
