A presentation of Viet Nam veteran memorials across the country was the focus of today’s (Wednesday) Veterans Day Program at the American Legion Hall at Firemen’s Park in Brenham.

The event’s keynote speaker was retired Army Colonel Albert J. Nahas, author of the book “Warriors Remembered.”

The book chronicles over 100 Viet Nam veterans’ memorials across the country.

Nahas says while researching the book he discovered there are over a thousand memorials in all 50 states.

He says The Wall in Washington D.C. is a memorial that must be seen by everyone—and should be seen early in the morning…

After a slide show featuring a number of the memorials, Nahas closed out his program with a poem, written by an Army helicopter pilot who never returned from his final mission…

Nahas then thanked all veterans in attendance for their service.

This morning’s program was broadcast live on KWHI and www.kwhi.com.
