RINGLING BROTHERS CIRCUS TO ELIMINATE ELEPHANT ACTS BY 2018

The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus has announced Thursday that it will no longer feature elephant acts, which they say will be phased out by 2018

Feld Entertainment, parent company of the circus, says the move comes after concern about how the animals are being treated.

In 2018, the elephants will be moved to the Center for Elephant Conservation, a 200 acre facility in central Florida.

Twenty-nine elephants are already there, and the other 14 will be moved as they are phased out.
