RUHLE TO LEAVE BAYLOR FOR NFL’S PANTHERS

Baylor head football coach Matt Rhule is leaving for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers.
Rhule had said in December that he planned on returning to Baylor, after leading the Bears to an 11-3 record this past season and a berth in the Big 12 Championship game and the Sugar Bowl, New Year’s Day.
Rhule, who coached the Giants' offensive line in 2012, replaces Ron Rivera in Carolina. Rivera was fired this past season after a nine-year run.
The Panthers finished 5-11 last season and haven't made the playoffs since 2017.
