RUNNERS PREPARING FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER AT BLUE BELL FUN RUN

Runners will need to keep an eye on the weather this (Saturday) morning, as they prepare for the 41st Annual Blue Bell Fun Run in Brenham.

This morning’s forecast is calling for a very good chance of rain and possible thunderstorms as the first set of races kicks off at 7:30 a.m.

The course starts and finishes at Brenham High School on FM 2935 off of loop 577 on the north side of town.  The Half Marathon starts at 7:30 a.m., the Kids’ 1-Mile Run at 8 a.m., the 10K Run at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K Run at 8:45 a.m.

Anyone wanting to register can still do so this morning at the high school, from 6:15 to 7:30 a.m.  Racers can pick up their packets until 8 a.m.

Beginning in 1978, the race benefits the Brenham High School Athletic program through an organization called Run for the Youth of Washington County.

The top finishers will receive medals and plaques, but everyone who participates will receive Blue Bell Ice Cream.
