SCHLOTTMANN NAMED 1ST TEAM ALL-STATE

Three members of the Brenham Cubs football team have been named to the Associated Press’ 4A All-State team.

Selected to the First-Team is senior offensive lineman Austin Schlottmann.

Schlottmann, a 6’ 5”, 285 pound offensive tackle, did not give up a sack all season, and helped anchor an offensive line that rolled up nearly 6,000 yards in total offense.

Schlottmann made a verbal commitment to TCU prior to the start of the 2013 season.

Two Cubs have received Honorable Mention from the AP:

Senior defensive back Desmond Lockett leads the team with six interceptions and four fumble recoveries.  He’s also among the team leaders in tackles.

Junior running back Earnest Patterson has rushed for a school-record 2364 yards this season, with 24 rushing touchdowns.

Earlier this week, Burton’s Lewis Brown was named First-Team 1A All-State by the Associated Press.

Brown, a senior linebacker, had 160 tackles this season with 11.5 sacks and two interceptions.

Brown’s teammate Tanner Damuth was named Honorable Mention for both offense (running back) and defense (linebacker).
