SCHMECKENFEST THURSDAY ON FAYETTE. CO COURTHOUSE SQUARE
The holiday season kicks off today (Thursday) in La Grange with the 12th Annual Schmeckenfest.
Activities begin at 5 p.m. on the Fayette County Courthouse Square, including the Christmas parade and lighting of the county Christmas tree on the courthouse lawn.
There will also be music, cookie decorating, treats from local nonprofits, children’s activities like a Schmecken-ball pit and bounce house, and a visit from Santa.
Over two dozen kinds of wassail, or hot cider, will be available, made by various business owners and community leaders. The winner of the wassail competition will be crowned Schmeckenmeister until the next festival.
