SEALY MOVING FORWARD WITH EMS FACILITY PLANS

Sealy is working on entering into an agreement with Austin County for an EMS facility.

At a recent city council meeting, Sealy City Manager Lloyd Merrell said he is moving forward with a contract for topography, platting and surveying services for public safety properties.  He said the next step is to get appraisal done, so he can inform the county how much the council would need for it.

According to Assistant City Manager Warren Escovy, these services would could up to $14,000, but are necessary to properly determine drainage needs.

City and county officials have considered a land swap, which would enable the county to put an EMS station near the city’s fire and police departments, for years.
