SENATOR KOLKHORST RESPONDS TO ELECTION RESULTS

  

Senator Lois W. Kolkhorst has responded to Tuesday night’s election results.

In a statement released Wednesday, Senator Kolkhorst said:
"I'm deeply humbled to be elected to my first full term in the Texas Senate. It's truly a new day in Texas and across the nation. Voters have delivered change in Washington leadership and all Texans will be better for it. As a member of President-elect Donald J. Trump's Advisory Committee, I am proud to stand with him as we now turn to the task of governing. Together, we will set a course to tackle our nation's debt, reform entitlement programs and secure our border. As a Texas Senator, I will work hard to deliver the change that Texans and America have demanded."

Kolkhorst joined Donald Trump’s expanded statewide leadership team in September. The team helped in advising the Trump campaign to ensure a GOP victory during the election.

Senator Kolkhorst was successful in her run for a first full term in the Texas Senate representing District 18. Kolkhorst received  228,600 votes to 43,190 for Libertarian candidate Kathie Stone. In Washington County, Kolkhorst received 11,907 votes while Stone pulled in 1,267.
