SEUSSICAL JR AT BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL BEGINS SATURDAY

  

The Brenham High School Theatre Department will be presenting Seussical Jr. beginning this Saturday.  This will be their last production of the year, and for the seniors in the department, it will be the last performance of their high school carrier.

Seussical Jr. is an adaptation of the popular Children’s book series by Dr. Seuss.  In the musical, The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge--not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.

Seussical Jr. will be presented in the “Black Box Theatre” at Brenham High School adjacent to the drama classroom.  The smaller theatre allows for a more intimate performance, with the audience only a few feet away from the actors.  Tickets are $10 each and are limited at the door, but can also be purchased in advance at cubcompany.booktix.com.  Performances of the family friendly production are Saturday, May 11th at 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM.  It will also be performed Monday and Tuesday evening, May 13th-14th, at 7:00 PM.
