SEVERAL CONROE HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS INJURED IN BUS CRASH

  

Several injuries have been reported, after a Conroe ISD school bus was involved in a crash late Friday night.

According to authorities, the bus was carrying about 35 people, including over 20 Conroe High School volleyball players.  The bus was hit at its right-rear tire in the Woodlands, at Gosling Road and Research Forest Drive.

Seven people, including five players and the driver and passenger of the vehicle that hit the bus, had to be taken to a nearby hospital.  Their injuries were not believed to be serious.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies say the driver of the car was intoxicated.  The driver is facing charges of intoxication assault, and the passenger was charged with having an open alcohol container.  Deputies did not release the names of the suspects.
