The National Weather Service will host a weather spotter training course in Brenham next week.
The course will be presented by Dan Riley, the Forecast Office Director in Lake City. Riley will discuss what to look for in severe weather events, like tornadoes and flooding.
Riley will also teach how different cloud formations can identify the severity of thunderstorms, and cover how to report weather events to the National Weather Service.
The training is free and open to the public. It will be held Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Fireman’s Training Center, on 1101 Highway 290 West in Brenham.
