SLIGHT ENROLLMENT INCREASE AT BLINN FOR SPRING 2019 SEMESTER

  

District-wide enrollment for Blinn College fell just under 17,000 for the spring 2019 semester.

Blinn registered 16,979 students for the spring, up 77 students district-wide compared to last spring. Blinn’s largest spring enrollment came in 2016, with 17,876 students.

The College’s largest increase came on the Brenham Campus which enrolled 2,231 students, up 267 students from the previous spring.

Meanwhile, Blinn’s enrollment for online-only courses grew to 2,397, up 128 students from the year before. High school dual credit enrollment increased to 1,659 students.

In Bryan, Blinn registered 8,417 students, and the RELLIS Campus enrolled 1,505 in its first spring semester. The Schulenburg Campus enrolled 131 students, and the Sealy Campus registered 88 students.

Blinn’s enrollment includes 1,058 students in the TEAM Program, a co-enrollment partnership between Blinn and Texas A&M University. An additional 609 students are enrolled in the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Blinn-Bryan, while another 104 are enrolled in the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Blinn-Brenham.

Blinn enrolled 1,077 students for its Spring 12-week courses, which began last Monday. That total includes 345 students who are unique to the 12-week term and not enrolled in the traditional 16-week spring semester, adding to this spring’s headcount.

An additional 227 students have registered for the spring second 8-week term, already passing last spring’s second 8-week enrollment total. The 2019 second 8-week term begins Monday, March 18th.

Registration for Blinn’s spring 8-week courses is available through Sunday, March 17th.
