SMALL FARMS AND VEGETABLE CONFERENCE FEBRUARY 28TH IN SEALY

The Horticulture Committee of Austin County invites farmers and gardeners to Sealy next week to begin preparing their spring gardens.

A Small Farms and Vegetable Conference is set for next Friday, February 28th, at the American Legion Hall in Sealy at 1630 Meyer Street.  Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the program will begin at 9 a.m.

This year’s conference will offer topics covering a wide range of areas, including pond management, spring time gardening, mole and gopher control, plants that are toxic to animals, and the good and bad of garden bugs.

A variety of local vendors will be on site to provide information on the latest technology and products available, and assist with any questions or needs farmers may have.

Private applicators in need of Continuing Education Unit (CEU) hours can obtain five CEU credits by attending the conference, pending approval from the Texas Department of Agriculture.

There is a registration fee of $30, payable at the door.
