SNOOK COUPLE CHARGED WITH ILLEGAL DUMPING
Burleson County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a Snook couple after more than a thousand pounds of trash piled up on their property.
Authorities charged Mary and Frank Macik with illegal dumping and unauthorized disposal of lead acid batteries.
A warrant was issued for their arrests last week. Both turned themselves in the next day and they were released within hours.
Investigators say the couple dumped more than a thousand pounds of trash on their own property on Skrabanek Street, near the Snook public schools.
The illegal dumping charge is a felony and could result in jail time and a fine. Unauthorized disposal of lead acid battery is a Class-A misdemeanor.
Snook officials are hiring a contractor to remove the trash.
