SOMERVILLE HIRES NEW FOOTBALL COACH

Somerville High School has its eighth new head coach in the past nine seasons.

The Somerville Board of Trustees has approved the hiring of Cal Neatherlin Tuesday night.

Neatherlin has been an assistant for the last 19 years—the last five with San Antonio Southwest High School. Prior to that he was a Midland for 13 seasons and started out his high school coaching career at Marshall in 2000.

The Somerville ISD had thought they had hired their next coach last month with the announcement that former Aggie and NFL star Ty Warren had taken the post.  But, a week later Warren announced he would not be taking the position

The Yeguas’ season opener is August 30th when they host Iola.
