STACY ASCHENBECK RESIGNS FROM BLINN BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Stacy Aschenbeck
(Blinn College)

Blinn College Trustee Stacy Aschenbeck has announced her resignation from the District Board of Trustees.

Aschenbeck is resigning after three years on the board. During her time on the board, she helped launch Blinn’s partnership with the Texas A&M University System, as part of the RELLIS Academic Alliance at the RELLIS Campus.

Also in her time as a trustee. Blinn opened Mill Creek Hall and the Kruse Center at the Brenham Campus, the Walter C. Schwartz Building at the RELLIS Campus in Bryan, and expanded the A.W. Hodde, Jr. Technical Education Center.

Aschenbeck says it was a difficult decision, but it’s one that will allow her to spend more time with her family.

Aschenbeck was elected to represent Precinct 4 in 2015. She says it has been an honor to have played a role in Blinn’s development, and once her family life stabilizes, she would welcome being a board member again.

In addition to teaching full-time at Texas A&M as Director of Public Speaking, she also acts as a 4-H club leader. She says she will continue to work with Blinn Vice Chancellor Karen Buck, to attempt to bring new communications courses to the university.

Blinn College Chancellor Dr. Mary Hensley and Board Chair Charles Moser commended her service on the board, and look forward to her continued partnership with the university.

Blinn trustees will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, in the Brenham Campus Administration Building to begin the process for appointing a new Precinct 4 trustee.

  1. Dear Stacy,Thank you for your time & successful 3 years. You’re a outstanding gal. Thank you, Mzz. Mc

  2. It is sad and upsetting to see the Blinn Board lose 1 of the 2 possible Board members that CAN and DOES actually see the tyranny of Dr. Mary Hensley. The faculty and staff have suffered enough. Please make the bleeding stop! It hurts my heart to know that a new person will be appointed and expected to do as Dr. Hensley wishes or things will be made difficult for them as they have been made difficult for ANY faculty or staff that steps in her way. I TRULY hope the citizens of Washington County care enough, can see the wrongdoings and will do something about it in the elections in May.

    1. I agree. The Brenham Blinn employees appear to now have no control over the college president. For the past several Blinn presidents prior to the current one, the local Brenham employees of Blinn held significant sway over the president but now that seems to have changed. It’s as if the Brenham Blinn employees are supposed to actually listen to their employer. Ridiculous! Some of us long for the good old days when the Blinn president position changed almost yearly… when a president would be run off by local employees of Brenham campus who could simply pressure local board members to do their bidding. Now the board listens to the president and taxpayers more than the inconvenienced employees! This tyranny must end!!!

      1. Sorry Otto, you don’t get it. The good old days were when Dr. Volter (Hope I spelled his name correct) was still running the show and before him. Things have not been the same since he was run off.
