STREET NAME CHANGE

  

The Brenham City Council Thursday agreed to rename the last stretch of Stringer Street leading to Highway 290 in Brenham to South Chappell Hill Street.

The Chappell Hill Extension project would connect Chappell Hill to Stringer Street which would then connect to Highway 290.  The project should be finished in August of next year.

City Public Works Director Dane Rau told the City Council yesterday (Thursday) they wanted to begin working on changing the name of the 2400 block of Stringer Street to South Chappell Hill Street before the project is completed.

Rau says they are informing the three businesses on that block about the name change.  Those businesses are the Dairy Bar, Brenham Oaks Apartment, and HD Supply.

Rau says the city will be responsible for the sign changes due to the name change.
