SUMMER READING PROGRAM STARTS TUESDAY AT HOHLT PARK

Youngsters in Brenham and Washington County have been enjoying their summer vacation for a week now, but that doesn’t mean they quit reading.

The annual Nancy Carol Roberts Library Summer Reading Program opens up Tuesday, at Hohlt Park.  That’s a move because the library is undergoing major renovations and is temporarily housed at the city hall lobby.

Children’s Activities Librarian LuLu Barber says they had a presentation at the Hohlt Park Pavilion at the back of the park, with magician Julian Franklin.

The festivities continue Tuesday with an animal show at the Hohlt Park Pavilion.  After that the presentations will be at the Sports Center at Hohlt Park, each Tuesday.

The Summer Reading program will continue through July 15th, with programs every Tuesday.  They will be at 10am for the younger children and two in the afternoon for the older children.

Children are encouraged to read as many books as they can to win all kinds of prizes.
