Cates was elected along with Gayle Cooper of the Gun Barrel City Economic Development Corporation, James Gentry of the Crockett Economic Development Corporation, Chester Jenke of the New Braunfels EDC, Tommy Kurtz of the Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation, and Matt Prochaska of the Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation.

Cates, who has been with the City of Brenham as Economic Development Director since 2019, said she is pleased to be a part of the community, sharing in the excitement of current businesses as they grow and building relationships with new businesses.  She said she is honored to be elected to the TEDC board, and looks forward to serving the community and the State of Texas in economic development.
