SUTTON; SCHLOTTMANN TO BATTLE TEXANS, SUNDAY ON KWHI

Two former Brenham Cub football standouts will be close to home, Sunday.

Courtland Sutton and Austin Schlottmann will help lead the Denver Broncos against the Houston Texans, Sunday afternoon at NRG Stadium.

Sutton is in his second season with the Broncos.  He leads the team with 54 receptions for 906 yards and six touchdowns.

Sutton was a second-round draft pick in the 2018 draft out of SMU.

Schlottmann, a backup offensive lineman for much of the season, is expected to start Sunday against Houston.

Starting guard Ron Leary is in concussion protocol and has knee and shoulder injuries.  Schlottmann played most of last week’s game with San Diego and has worked with the first team throughout this week.

Schlottmann signed as a free agent out of TCU.

Kickoff between the Broncos and Texans is set for noon, Sunday.  The game can be heard live on AM 1280 KWHI and FM 101.7.
