TEXAS INDEPENDENCE DOCUMENTARY TO SHOW SATURDAY AT THE BARNHILL CENTER
A documentary film telling the story of the Texas Declaration of Independence will premiere in a theatre for the first time this weekend in Brenham.
The public is invited on Saturday to a screening of “Independence! A Lone Star Rises” at The Barnhill Center at Historic Simon Theatre on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
The documentary details the signing of the declaration and the creation of a new nation and government at Washington-on-the-Brazos 185 years ago. It premiered for the first time on social media and YouTube on March 31st.
The event will feature a “Behind the Scenes” discussion with director and producer Gary Foreman of Native Sun Productions. Actors from the film will also be on hand in costume to talk about their experience with the film.
