THANKSGIVING GAS PRICES DOWN SLIGHTLY
As drivers across Texas hit the road for the Thanksgiving holiday, gas prices remain mostly unchanged from a week ago.
According to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, the statewide average for a gallon of unleaded fuel is $1.79. That price is a penny cheaper per gallon than this day a week ago, but it is 46 cents less than this day last year.
Gas prices in Brenham average out to $1.93, with a low of $1.68 and a high of $2.16.
Surveying the major metropolitan areas in Texas shows drivers in El Paso are paying the most on average per gallon at $2.04, while drivers in Amarillo are paying the least at $1.65.
Nationwide, the average price for a gallon of unleaded fuel is $2.11, the same price as this day a week ago, but 47 cents less than this day a year ago.
