THE MAIFEST PARADE

The 124th Maifest has now come and gone.  There was another day of food, fun and yes, beer at the Maifestival grounds.  Jim and Jake Kolkhorst won the bean bag contest and William Loesch won the Meister Von Bier contest with his Irish Red entry.

The 124TH Maifest Parade was familiar, exciting and fun as the combined junior and senior courts were celebrated along the city’s parade route. You can see the entire parade on the KWHI.com website.

Junior King Jackson Edward Van Dyke and Junior Queen Piper Puckett, who were crowned last (Friday) night to reign over the Court Of Maifest Mysteries rode along with the Senior Royalty, King Caleb Rodenbeck and Queen Caroline Webb.  The senior royalty will be crowned tonight  (Saturday) at the Fireman’s Park Baseball field to reign over the court of Celebrations Across Texas.

In honor of King Rodenbeck, the Texas Tech Red Raider led the way for the senior royalty.

  1. Correction, that is NOT the Red Raider. She is the Masked Rider at Texas Tech. The Red Raider is the character costumed version, similar to Carson and Chloe at Brenham.
