THREE BLINN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS SIGN WITH FOUR-YEAR PROGRAMS

Sophomores Alexus Brigham, Missy Archie and Alexus Wykoff led Buccaneers in 2018-19

Blinn College sophomore guard Alexus Brigham (Fort Worth) and sophomore forwards Missy Archie (Huntsville) and Alexus Wykoff (Magnolia) have signed with four-year programs to continue their academic and athletic careers.
Brigham signed with Texas Wesleyan University, Archie signed with Sam Houston State University, and Wykoff signed with Florida International University.
“I can’t thank these three sophomores enough for what they did for Blinn College both on and off the court,” said Jeff Jenkins, Blinn head coach. “They are very special people and I know they will represent their new universities well.”
An all-region and all-conference selection, Archie led Blinn with 14.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. She scored a season-high 26 points in two games against Victoria College on Nov. 19 and Bossier Parish Community College on Feb. 20, and recorded nine double-doubles this year. For her career, Archie totaled 578 points and 417 rebounds. She earned the 2019 Don Wilhelm Award as the Buccaneers’ most valuable player.
Wykoff will continue her playing career at Florida International after earning Region XIV Conference honorable mention this season. She was second on the team with 14 points per game and posted 6.5 rebounds per game. She recorded a team-high 36 points against Paris Junior College on March 2. In her two seasons at Blinn, she recorded 412 points and 251 rebounds.
Brigham heads to Texas Wesleyan after leading the Buccaneers with 4.8 assists per game and tallying 11.5 points per game to pick up honorable mention all-conference honors this season.

Blinn finished the season with a 12-19 overall record and a 5-13 mark in Region XIV play.
