THREE SENTENCED TO JAIL TIME

  

three sentenced storyA Bastrop woman has been sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to drug charges in 21st District Court.

22-year old Tawnya Kay Whited plead guilty to a felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Whited was arrested back on February 18th in a routine traffic stop on Highway 290.

During the stop, Brenham Police found just over eight grams of methamphetamines.  She was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for parole violation.

30-year old Jose Edward Vasquez of Brenham was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to Aggravated Robbery.

Vasquez was arrested back in June of last year on charges he assaulted and robbed a 65-year old man at the man’s home on Alois Lane.

61-year old Louis Cortez Welch has also been sentenced to jail time.  Welch plead guilty to two charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Welch was sentenced to 11 months behind bars for the State Jail felony for the offenses committed over two years ago.

And, 18-year old Andy Lee Ivy of Muldoon was placed on four years probation for Theft of $1500-to-$20,000.

Ivy was a former employee of Carey’s Window Tint who allegedly broke into the business and stole a cash box.

Ivy was also fined $1500 and ordered to perform 160 hours of community service.
