THREE TRANSPORTED AFTER TWO-VEHICLE ACCIDENT NEAR BURTON
A two-vehicle accident on Highway 290 just outside of Burton sent three people to the hospital Friday morning.
The accident occurred around 10:15 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 290, next to the Spur 125 turnoff coming into Burton.
Three people were transported by Washington County EMS to CHI St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan. No word was given by EMS on the extent of their injuries, or by DPS on how the accident occurred.
The eastbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours as first responders tended to the patients and cleared the scene.

I was the first car on the scene.. and called 911. Very terrible.
I am surprised that anyone survived. I don’t know what caused it, but I saw the one truck in the air flying towards the one in front of me.
There was no life at the scene as I passed through.
