TODAY’S LOOK BACK AT KWHI
During the 70th anniversary celebration this month, KWHI has been taking a look back at memorable audio from our time on the air.
In our search, we came across two cassettes. They both had multiple names written on them, with some recognizable and others not. These tapes turned out to be audition recordings for the news director position.
General Manager Tom Whitehead, Jr. would have applicants interview him before writing a news story from that interview. They would then have to read the story along with some wire news stories. He recorded the auditions back to back on two cassettes.
