TRAFFIC STOPS, NOISE COMPLAINTS AND SHINING LIGHTS LEAD TO SATURDAY POT BUSTS

Traffic stops, noise complaints and shining lights led to three misdemeanor marijuana possession arrests Saturday.

The first arrest happened Saturday morning when Brenham police officer Seth Klem stopped a driver at Blue Bell Road and Independence at 8:23am.  The car had an expired inspection sticker but when Officer Klem approached the car he could smell burning marijuana.  He searched the car and found a small amount.  The driver, 18-year old Daniel Gutierrez was arrested for the misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Another traffic stop later in the day led to the arrested of a 19-year old Houston man.  Cpl. Edward Ortega saw a suspicious looking Ford Taurus parked on Green Street, next to Blinn College at about 7:30pm.  He shined a search light on the car and saw the people inside scrambling around, apparently trying to hide.   Cpl. Ortega approached the car and could smell marijuana.  Nineteen year old Barry Reddin said the marijuana was his and was arrested for misdemeanor marijuana possession in a drug free zone.

A noise complaint led to one more misdemeanor marijuana arrest later Saturday night.  Officer David Dudenhoeffer responded to the call in the 1300 block of Garrett at 10:17pm.  He found 18-year old Daniel Bartlett in a nearby car with a small amount of marijuana and arrested him.  He was close to Blinn College so the charge was enhanced to possession of marijuana in a drug free zone.
