TWO ARRESTED AFTER CHASE IN FAYETTE COUNTY

Two men are under arrest in Fayette County after driving on the wrong side of the road and leading law enforcement on a lengthy car chase.  Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that early Wednesday morning at 1:45, they received reports of a vehicle driving west bound in the east bound lane near Katie Sweets just west of LaGrange.  Deputies located the car and deployed spike strips after they refused to stop.  Three of the vehicle’s tires were deflated by the spike strips at the Fayette County line, but the car continued to travel into Bastrop County.  Deputies were finally able to get the vehicle to stop inside Bastrop County.  Arrested and charged with Evading Arrest or Detention with a vehicle and reckless driving was the driver 45 year old Marshall Paul Bushnell of Lake Charles Louisiana. Also arrested was the passenger, 37 year old Roman Joseph Brignac of Lake Charles Louisiana.  He was charged with Resisting Arrest and Assault on a Peace Officer.  Assisting in the arrests were the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office and the Smithville Police Department.
