TWO ARRESTED FOR D.W.I. IN BRENHAM
Two Washington County residents face DWI charges after their arrests this weekend.
Saturday morning around 3 a.m., Cpl. David Dudenhoeffer and Officer Terrence Johnson responded to a one-car accident near the intersection of S. Day and W. Mansfield streets.
The driver, 29-year old Amanda Dawn Montanez of Burton, was reportedly unsteady on her feet and the officers could smell alcohol on her breath.
Montanez failed a field sobriety test. She was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Then, this morning just after 1:30, Sgt. Curtiss Schoen responded to a reckless driver call and conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of HWY 36 S and Blue Bell Road.
When he met with the driver, 35-year old Brian Beshun Bennett of Old Washington, Schoen says he could smell the strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
Schoen performed a field sobriety test which Bennett failed. He was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.
