TWO BURGLARIES REPORTED TO BRENHAM POLICE

Two burglaries were reported to the Brenham police department in the past 24 hours.  At 8am Monday morning, employees at Farm Bureau Insurance at 1703 East Tom Green Street reported that the rear window to the business had been broken out at that 2 lap top computers were missing.

At 3am this (Tuesday) morning, officer Jonathan Phipps responded to an alarm Rattlers store at 1800 block of Blue Bell Road.  He found the front door to the business open and a store employee later confirmed that 16 cartons of cigarettes were missing, valued at $960.  A review of the security camera video showed 3 males inside the business.

Latter in the morning, Sealy police reported they had pulled over a vehicle with 4 male occupants with 16 cartons on cigarettes in their possession.  The cartons were confirmed to be from the Rattlers store through tags placed on them by the store.  The four occupants are being held in Sealy until Brenham police can transport them.

  1. While I do agree somewhat with FD, Leo you make a good point about the ride along. Unfortunately a set up ride along would only show the people what they want the rider to see to satisfy them. What I would like to see in the daily report we get in the newspaper is how many cars they searched and found nothing. I believe that the ones without exceeds the ones with, then people can make a more accurate judgment of the BPD. Our house has been broken into twice with items stolen, one report on each occurrence was filed and that is the last thing we heard from the BPD.

    1. JB, if you would contact me at the police department I will be glad to check the status of your cases. My direct line is 979-337-7380. Thank you.

  2. Hey FD maybe you should sign up to go on a ride along to see what Officers do from the hours of 11pm to 5am while you are snuggled up tight in your bed sleeping. It just might make you change your views and if it doesn’t maybe then would be a good time to voice your opinions….

    1. FD, you should really take “Leo’s” advice…attend the Citizen’s Police Academy the next go ’round and actually learn a thing or two about what Law Enforcement really does so that you are able to form a knowledgeable opinion on their role.

  3. These burglaries always increase in summer months the PD has told me this before, however what they don’t tell is at these times these burglaries are occurring the officers are running up and down 290 looking for speeder or as they say “drug courriers”. They need to learn to burglar patrol not drug patrol find the burglars not the kids walking around with a joint or two. There is more loss in these burglaries!!!
