Two men have been arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office after a shooting incident took place this past weekend.  Sheriff Otto Hanak reports that on Sunday, at approximately 11:55 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to a complaint involving shots fired in the 900 block of Allen Road.  Once at the scene, the victims advised the deputies that a Hispanic male, identified as Jimy Lenin Hernandez-Martel, came to their home uninvited and that they had asked him to leave.  When he refused, one of the victims proceeded to push the suspect from the porch to get him to leave.

The victims stated that a short time later, the suspect along with his brother, Carlos Emilio Flores-Martel, returned to their residence and that they both had firearms.  Flores-Martel attempted to enter the residence at which time one of the victims pushed the barrel of the weapon up and away from him and the weapon discharged.  The suspects then fled the scene.

After further investigation, warrants were issued for Jimy Lenin Hernandez-Martel, age 22, and Carlos Emilio Flores-Martel, age 29, both of Brenham.  Sheriff’s deputies arrested them on Wednesday evening, at approximately 9:30 p.m. The brothers have been charged with Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit a Felony and remain in the Washington County Jail with bonds set at $250,000.00 each.

  1. Are these two U.S. citizens, or resident aliens in some procedure for gaining citizenship? If the first, then let them see what their tax dollars pay for in jail; if the second, remove the possibility of ever becoming citizens and send them packing.
