TxDMV RECOGNIZES AUSTIN, GRIMES, WALLER COUNTIES FOR OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE

Several area counties have been recognized by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) for their outstanding performance.

Grimes, Austin, and Waller Counties were among the seven counties to earn Performance Quality Recognition Program awards.  According to a release, the awards recognize exemplary customer service and going above and beyond in providing vehicle title and registration services.

The program recognizes tax assessor-collectors at three levels – gold, silver, and bronze – for outstanding performance and efficiency in processing title and registration transactions.  Grimes County’s tax assessor-collector, Mary Ann Waters, earned silver, while Kim Rinn in Austin County and Ellen Contreras Shelburne in Waller County earned bronze.

The Performance Quality Recognition Program is a voluntary program available for all counties in Texas to apply.

TxDMV Executive Director Whitney Brewster said people in Texas “expect and deserve exceptional and efficient customer service”.  She said this achievement is “well-earned” and “something counties and their residents should be proud of”.
