TXDOT BEGINS TO TAKE OUT 290 CROSSOVER

  

Brenham City Engineer Grant Lischka says the Texas Department of Transportation has begun work taking out a crossover lane along highway 290 and Robert C. Appel Road, near Appel Ford.

Lischka said the Brenham City Council asked TxDot to do this some months ago and now the preliminary work has begun.  Lischka says the crossover is considered ‘pretty dangerous’ and not used very much.  The work means that a lane of traffic going both ways have been closed for now.  Bob Colwell of the TxDot office in Bryan says the crossover will be gone after Monday.
