TXDOT HOLDING TRANSPORTATION PLAN MEETINGS

The highways of Texas are getting older and overcrowded and the Texas Department of Transportation is looking for answers.

That’s why they are holding 25 statewide public meetings seeking your ideas on how to secure the state’s highway needs.

Bob Colwell of the Bryan office of TxDot says they will hold one of these meetings at their location at 259 Earl Rudder Freeway from 5:30 to 7:30pm Monday.

The meeting will deal with the Texas Transportation 2014 plan and its long range goals for all of the state’s transportation modes, from rail, ports, aviation, pedestrian, bicycles and freight.  The plan will also  address  the state’s aging infrastructure  and offer solutions for managing and priorities for transportation funding.

An interactive investment tool and exhibits outlining the statewide initiative will be presented at the meeting.  Participants are invited to ask questions and provide written commentary on the direction of the plan, which is scheduled to be completed and ready for the public hearing and adoption of the plan this fall.
