TxDOT TO CLOSE HIGHWAY 290 EAST AT SHEPPARD CREEK FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS THURSDAY
EASTBOUND DRIVERS WILL BE DETOURED
Drivers on Highway 290 headed east into Brenham will have to find an alternate route today (Thursday).
TxDOT will close Highway 290 eastbound at Sheppard Creek from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to make emergency repairs. The repairs are being made after an 18-wheeler crashed into the guardrail in the center median at the bridge over the creek in the construction zone Wednesday morning.
All eastbound drivers will be detoured from Highway 290 to FM 2502, then to FM 389, then back onto Highway 290.
Drivers should follow all detour signs and expect some minor delays.
