Former Texas A&M Aggie football star and Super Bowl champion Ty Warren has abruptly announced he’s no longer in the running for the position of Somerville head football coach.
After previously meeting with the Somerville school board in April and being approved for the position, Warren told KBTX-TV 3 and the Bryan-College Station Eagle that the “timing and separate agendas wouldn’t allow for both sides to come to terms”.
Warren thanked the Somerville trustees and Superintendent Karla Sparks for considering him for the position. He added he’s excited about future opportunities to potentially lead someone’s program in a positive direction.
Somerville ISD has since reposted the position for high school head football coach. Whomever is hired will be the school’s sixth head coach since 2014.
