UWBV TO GIVE AWAY 11,000 FREE MASKS WEDNESDAY IN COLLEGE STATION

United Way of the Brazos Valley (UWBV) is preparing to give away another round of free facemasks at its second drive-thru distribution event tomorrow (Wednesday) morning in College Station.

The distribution will take place from 7 to 9 a.m. at Veterans Park, located in College Station at 1301 Harvey Road.  Drivers are asked to enter on Veterans Parkway from University Drive and follow the signs to pick up their facemask bundle, then exit Veterans Park on Harvey Road.

Approximately 11,000 facemasks will be distributed by UWBV, including surgical masks donated by Brazos County Emergency Management and N95 masks donated by Lowe’s Home Improvement.  UWBV distributed around 10,000 facemasks at its previous distribution event on July 1st.

The free facemasks will be distributed in bundles of five, starting with bundles of N95 masks while supplies last.  There will be a limit of one facemask bundle per car.

There is no cost, registration or identification requirement to receive a free facemask bundle.  Residents do not need to leave their car to receive a bundle, as staff and volunteers will be on hand to pass bundles through the passenger window.
