VIDEO – 2018 CHAMPION DRIVE – SPECIAL EDITION

38 special needs kids participated in the Champion Drive Livestock Show this (Friday) morning at the Washington County Fair.  This is the fifth year that the show has been a part of the County Fair.  The program is designed to provide a fair experience to students with special needs and their families.  Students from Burton ISD participated this year along with Brenham ISD students.

Champion Drive is a collaborative effort between the school district staffs, and dozens of local sponsors and volunteers.  The participants in the show this year were paired with 75  4H or FFA volunteer buddies who help them show the animals.  Each participant shows either a calf, a market barrow, a market goat or a rabbit.  Emily Michalscheck and Allen Schwartz were selected as the outstanding volunteer buddies this year.
