VIDEO – BRENHAM ISD HERITAGE EXHIBIT AT DEPOT MUSEUM

This past weekend marked the 144th anniversary of the first day of school in the Brenham Independent School District.  The year was 1875 and Brenham became the first Public School District in Texas.  To honor that event, the Brenham Heritage Museum opened a new exhibit Saturday at their Depot location.

A number of people worked on the displays including Brenham Heritage Museum Board Member Natearah Austin , Jan Kelm of the Washington County Genealogical Society, Janel Jefferson of Texas Ten Historical Explorers, and Cynthia Eben, curator at the Brenham Heritage Museum.

The items will be displayed at the Brenham Heritage Museum Depot location at 313 East Alamo Street through October 26th.  The Depot is open each Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
