VOTING BEGINS FOR SPRING EGG ART WALK

  

The sidewalks in Downtown Brenham have been decorated with giant eggs as the annual “Spring Egg Art Walk” has begun.

With help from artists in the community, Main Street Brenham is bringing art to Downtown in the form of large, colorful decorated eggs.  The wooden eggs are displayed in front of many of the downtown shops and restaurants for the next three weeks.  The public is invited to visit Downtown Brenham and then vote online for their favorites, which were created by students, businesses, organizations, and professional artists.

There are categories for both adults and students, with just under $1000 in cash prizes. Kieke Egg Farm will award the Grand Prize of $200.  There will also be cash prizes awarded for Most Creative, Most Votes, and Judges’ Choice for both adults and students.  Other sponsors include Brunmillers Soapworks, Board and Brush, The Pomegranate/Funky Art Café, City Council member Susan Cantey, The Canyon Chick and Scrubs ‘n Stuff Boutique.

Due to concerns over COVID-19, voting is only be conducted online this year.  To vote for your favorite egg, just visit www.downtownbrenham.com where you can also bid to buy your favorite egg.  Voting runs through April 13^th.
