WACO POLICE FORCED TO KILL K-9 OFFICER

A Waco police K-9 had to be killed after turning on its handler as authorities attempted to serve a warrant early Friday afternoon.

The dog attacked its handler biting him in the hand, while another officer was forced to shoot the animal.

The injured handler was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center for treatment.  The dog died at the scene.

The incident happened as police and U.S. marshals were attempting to serve a warrant.

No further details will be released until Monday.

  1. I feel that killing the K9 could been handled without killing the poor dog…could have used taser or mace to make him stop.. I dont believe the handler was actually ever in charge of the animal…this seems to be a growing trend in law enforcement.. I feel more for the loss
of the K9…..costs the citizens of Waco a lot of money…officers need to be better trained in
the handling of the animal and be conscious of there needs as well…I hope the handler recovers with no permanent damage to himself, but should be removed from the K9 corps.

  2. This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of. Shooting the dog for biting it’s handler? It’s a trained professional, why shoot it? They just wasted an average of $100K by doing this. If the dog bit it’s handler it’s because it was in “Defense” mode. Failure on the training, not the Canine Officer. Shame on them.

  3. Wow! So sad! Should have handled the situation differently. If you have a dog, there is always a chance of getting bit!
