The walk will be held next Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Kruse Center on the Blinn College campus in Brenham, at 208 Blinn Boulevard.
This month’s topic is “The Path to a Healthier You” with registered dietitian Melanie Roberts. After a brief talk about the importance of good nutrition for a healthy life, participants will step off on a 30-minute walk where they can have their questions answered.
Health officials say walking is one of the single best things to do to live a long, high-quality life. According to the American Heart Association, brisk walking 30 minutes a day for five days a week can reduce the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, stroke, certain forms of cancer, and more.
