WASHINGTON CO. 4H TAKES FIRST AT INVITATIONAL CONTEST

  

 

Nine Washington County 4-Hers participated in 2020 Central Texas 4-H Invitational Consumer Decision Making Contest held in Gatesville, earlier this month. 

Coryell, Milam and Washington Counties helped coordinate and host the event.   Ninety-six youth participated in this contest and $1,050 in scholarships were awarded.

Washington County 4Hers came home with top team and individual honors.

The Washington County Intermediate team earned 1st Place.  On this team were Haylie Niemeyer, Madison Moran, Dalton Winkelmann and Audrey Schmidt.  Niemeyer was 1st Place High Point Intermediate Individual and received a $50 scholarship.  Moran was 3rd Place High Point Individual and Winkelmann placed 8th High Point Individual in the Intermediate division.

In the Senior Category, Washington County placed 3rd overall Senior Team and members were Clayton Boeker, Adrie Niemeyer and Bethany Janner.  Boeker was 2nd Place High Point Individual and Niemeyer was 8th Place High Point Individual in the Senior division.

Judging as Junior individuals were Dawson Moran and Brazos Supak.  Moran was 11th High Point Junior Individual out of 39 competing juniors.

The Washington County Consumer Decision Making teams are coached by County Extension Agents Ally James and Hannah Krebs.
