Sheriff’s deputies along with members of the Brenham Police Department’s Fusion and Tactical Unit, D.P.S. troopers and investigative agents, and a D.P.S. helicopter, secured the 50 acre property.

Several fields of marijuana were located in various stages of growth.  Hanak also says there was evidence those who had been growing the marijuana had been living in the woods near the field.

Those suspects remain at large.

Approximately 3,450 plants ranging from two to eight feet high were seized, with a street value of approximately 1.7-million dollars.POT BUST 0812 03

Hanak says his office is currently working with State, Federal and city law enforcement agencies to identify, locate, and apprehend those responsible for these illegal activities.

This is the 6th marijuana growing operation shut down in Washington County since January of last year.
